Penguins. Lovely.

Happy Eclipse Day, as you read this I will be waiting in line to see the midnight showing of Eclipse. I'm in CA so I will need to wait another 3 hours but I know some of you will already be in the theater watching it. So I lost track of time and desperately wanted to make a Twilight card. I knew I needed to get my 2 Cute DT card done first. For some reason I remembered there was a mention of Penguins in the book, ha, then the wheels in my head started turning. This card satisfied my need to make a Twilight card and my DT obligation :).

My card uses Penguin Fun; I cropped off as much of the ice cream cone as I could. I hid the rest of the cone with a computer-generated sentiment. The sentiment is something Edward says to Bella when they are talking about where to go to college. Penguins would have been part of their "vegetarian" diet, lol. Good thing for little penguin they didn't end up in Alaska. Ok I know some of you won't get this but I couldn't resist.

Challenges:
KL Stampin N Scrappin Challenge 36- Sketch
Friends Having Fun Pop Culture- Eclipse
Raise The Bar 24- An Evening Theme/Eclipse

SPCC 54 Last Card As A SPCC Diva

Is it really Monday already? Where did the weekend go? We went to the beach on Saturday and the kids had a blast. I'm still worn out from being in the sun all day. I hope you had a fab weekend.

For my card I used Maddie from the stamp set Zeke and Maddie by StampInsanity. I colored her in with Copics. This was my first attempt at a round card. Next time I will need to use a smaller image or just a sentiment.

SPCC was my first DT and I will be forever grateful to Samantha. She must have seen something in me because she chose me before I owned any Copics and my water coloring skills were/are below par. Not saying my Copic skills are all that but I know they are better then my water coloring skills. Sadly I needed to let my term end. Samantha has a lot of new and exciting things going on, so I hope you head over to her blog and check them out. Even though I won't be a Diva any longer, I'll still hop on over and join the challenges.

SISC15 Birthday Cake Inspired

Good morning, my blogging friends. I have a fun card to share with you all today. This card is for StampInsanity Challenge #15. We were asked to pick one of these cakes and use it as inspiration to make a birthday card. I picked the second one because it is more my style.

I colored Nicholette to match the cake. I found this awesome sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday #55. After I found the sketch I pulled out my pattern papers and this scrap of polka dot ribbon. This card sort of threw itself together from there. My 11 year old daughter told me I needed to line the bottom of the card with pearl so it would look like the cake. Well, there was no way I had enough pearls to do that but her little idea inspired me to add the pearls on the sides. The sprays of stars behind the flower are from a piece of left over Christmas garland that I had used in another project. Thanks for stopping bye.
Supplies:
SU card stock half pearls and rub on sentiment
Making Memories Pattern Papers
Bling from Michael's dollar bin

SISC14 Betcha Bottom Dollar

Good morning, today I am sharing a card for this weeks challenge over at StampInsanity. Beth designed this awesome sketch. Her inspiration was the good ole US Dollar.

For some reason this SU DP wanted to be used on this sketch (yes Beth it is Manhattan something or another). I thought the sentiment and images from Otherworldly Loves went well with my vision, so I stamped them all on Kraft card stock. The lips were also stamped on white. I carefully cut out those tiny teeth. I added the red to give my card a Twilight feel.

This was the best way to for me to keep up with my duties.

The FHF Sketch team is looking for new DT members. If you are interested please check out the details here. There's also a DT call for the FHF Recipe team here. Since I'm listing DT calls I should also let you know that Fussy and Fancy is also having a DT call here.

Father's Day Card

Here's a card I made yesterday. This adorable image is from Di's Digi Downloads called Beer Bear. I thought it was perfect for a card for my hubby. I colored the image in to go with this masculine DP from SU. I'm not sure if you can tell but I used crystal effects on the beer mug to make it look like glass. The next 2 weeks our challenge is a sketch designed by Mindy. This challenge we are also looking for people who are interested in being on our DT. It's simple, just create a card with the sketch, link it with Mr. Linky and just add DT to the end of your name. Our sponsor this time around is Simon Says. The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to spend in their store. I hope you join us not just for the challenge but DT call as well.

SISC12 A Sketch with a Twist

Last month I was a Guest Groovy Gurl and I am honored to say that this month I am Groovy Gurl. Tonya is taking a break and I was asked to fill the empty spot that was created. I had so much fun as a guest how could I say no.

This week's challenge is this awesome sketch, but there's a twist. You see those blank corners, well the twist is to kick corners. I decided to fold mine but you are free to do what you want with them, just don't leave them blank.

I decided to use Joszette with one of my fave color combos. I found some small scraps of this awesome retired Rockabilly DP and knew I had to use it on this card. As I was putting this card together I kept feeling like I need to add more to it. I pulled out different flowers and bling and finally realized it was ok to leave this card clean. What do you think?

Supplies:
SU card stock, DP and brads
Nestabilities
Copics: E000, E27, E29, E51, E53, B93, B95, B97,

2 Cute Happy Crabby

Good evening everyone. Today I am sharing a card I made for 2 Cute DT Blog. This week I decided to use Happy Crabby. He makes me think of the fun my kids will be having this summer. We don't go to the beach that often because it's about an hour or so away. I'm also not a big fan of being in crowded places and the beach can get that way during the summer months. We usually plan to get their early and leave just as everyone is getting there. It seems to work for us :). Thanks for visiting my blog.

Card Patterns 66- Sketch
Cupcake Crafts Challenge 93- Summer Delight
Creative Inspiration 63- Beach Theme
