SPCC 50

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you all are having an awesome Memorial Day. Here's a quick post featuring a card I made for SPCC #50. This is a very simple SU card. I don't have much Blush Blossom or Creamy Carmel in my stash so I had to make due with what I had. Thanks for stopping by.

StampInsanity Inspiration

Good morning! Today begins a new challenge over at StampInsanity. This time around we were asked to use this gorgeous pic as inspiration.
This is what I came up with. I used Mystic Beauties Bumblina and colored her in similar colors to the inspiration piece. I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash. The yellow DP, that was a must have about a year ago, is from my stash that has never been used before this card. The faux stitching was added to give it a little something extra, not sure if I accomplished that though.

Bonnie

In yesterday's post I said I'd be posting a card today. Sorry for not posting earlier but I'm sharing the computer with the kids who are now on Summer Vacation, lucky me! I bought this adorable image called Bonnie a few months ago when Spesch Designer Stamps first started. I printed her off right away but have been so busy with DT requirements that I held off using her. I got her to make a card for my husband's cousin who is due in July. As the time gets closer I thought it was about time to get this card made.

I usually don't post the pic of the sketch I used but I didn't want someone to see the card when this posts on my facebook, lol. I'm being a bit sneaky and hope she doesn't click on the link to see the actual card. This sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I used the pink and brown color scheme because those were the colors of the invite to the baby shower. I also think these are the colors of the babies room. I made Bonnie a blonde because I think there's a strong likely hood little Miss Lyvia could be blonde. Hopefully I'm right, lol. Well, thanks for stopping by. I shall be back tomorrow with another post. Till then :).

I've been so busy with DT cards that it was nice to make a card just because :).

Princess Tilda's Wish

Happy Friday! Today starts a new challenge over at Fussy and Fancy Friday. This time around we are doing a recipe challenge. This was a fun recipe and I really hope everyone takes some time to joining us. Here's the recipe: a minimum of 3 Pattern Papers, 3 Images (sentiment can count as one) and 3 different embellishments. I have to tell you, I thought this was going to be a tough one but once I got started it was so much fun. I used 4 DP, 3 images (4 if you count sentiment) and 3 types of embellishments (5 if you count the glitter and crystal effects).

I knew I wanted to make a "window" to see in the card. I did have a hard time lining everything up because I didn't really plan it out, I just sort of added layers as I went. I think next time I do this I will plan my layering out before I start cutting things. I colored Tilda to go with the Basic Grey DP she is on. I colored the little fairy Tilda in lighter colors. Now that I look at the card I think I should have added more color to her. The cute little frog is cut out and propped up on dimensionals. I went a bit crazy with the bling and other embellishments. I hope you hop on over to Fussy and Fancy Friday to see what the other DT members created.

StampInsanity Bookmark

Good morning! Today is Thursday and that means there's a new challenge over at StampInsanity. This week you need to make a bookmark. Not just any bookmark though, you need to include "hardware". I'm counting the jumbo eyelet and brads as my hardware :). When I found out we needed to make a bookmark I knew I was going to make it a Twilight theme. At first I was thinking Edward or Bella or even both. I decided that I wanted something Team Jacob, in the books Edward is my man but in the movies I'm Team Jacob. Yes I said it, lol. Sorry the movie Edward isn't "my Edward" but the movie Jacob is a lot better on my eyes. Back to my bookmark :). I colored Jack (or in my case Jacob) to go with this Basic Grey DP that I inherited from Mindy or April (sorry girls, not sure which one of you I took this from). I didn't want to put too much on this bookmark because I wanted to really use it. I figured less would be more in this case. What do you think?

For more inspiration check out the GROOVY GURLZ.

2 Cute Penguin Fun Take 2

Hello my dear blogging friends. Today I am sharing a card featuring Penguin Fun. I made a card with him last week but I thought he needed some fun ice cream flavors. I asked for suggestions on last weeks post at 2 Cute DT blog. Deb suggested I try mint chocolate chip. I let the DP help with the other 2 scoops. I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

A quick note, I would love for everyone to join the 2 Cute DT for our current challenge. All you have to do is create a project with the free image for a chance to win a free rubber stamp. Thanks!

    FHF Recipe Challenge 2

Is it Monday already? Yikes where did my weeken
d go? I went too fast and this is the last week of school for the kids. I have a feeling this week is going to go by fast.

This week is a new recipe challenge over at Friends Having Fun. The recipe this time around is to use pastel colors, embossing (wet or dry) and handmade flower(s). Our sponsor is StampInsanity.

I used Maddie from the set Zeke and Maddie by StampInsanity. I used Caardvark's May Sketch for my card. I made the pink rose, can't believe I remembered how to make them from high school. The crochet flower was made by Jennifer's mom. I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss the pink card stock. I hope you like, thanks for stopping by!

    Darque Obsession Take 2

Tonya from Stamp Happens is releasing Darque Obsession 2. Oh and these are for us girls who love our men a little on the Vamp side. Isn't he dreamy :). I went with this simple sketch from Sketch Maniac # 18. I didn't want to add too much to this card because I wanted him to be the center of attention. You can see more sample of these images here.

Are You Ready To Hula Hoop?

No not me, that would be hilarious to see though. Today is the start of a new challenge over at 2 Cute DT Blog . The challenge is simple, use one of the Hula Hoop Hamster Digi's on a project and share it with us here. Isn't this hamster cute, there are 2 different versions of him that can be found here.

For my card I kept things fairly clean and simple. I wanted the little hamster to be the star. I colored the hula hoop red because I think my daughter used to have a red one. Now she has a hot pink one, and it is fun to watch her do her thing. Remember to check out 2 Cute DT Blog to see what the other girls made.

StampInsanity Challenge 9 and Release Day

Today is the release of "What the Heart Wants" and "Simply Supernatural" Sentiments by StampInsanity only available for purchase at Stamp Happens.
This is my second card as a Guest DT member for StampInsanity. This week the challenge is to create you own background paper. Well with these fabulous images it wasn't that hard for the wheels to start turning. I remembered I've been hanging on to this SU set that belongs to my friend Jill. I thought it would be perfect for the background. I stamped it several times then distressed the edges of the card stock with my scissors. Then I crinkled it up to make it look really worn, when I was satisfied I inked up the edges with a couple of shades of grey ink. I kept the layout fairly simple because I wanted as much of the background paper to show as possible.

Be sure to check out the rest of the gurlz creations.

Izzy from What The Heart Wants Collection and Otherworldy Loves

2 Cute Sweet Treat For You

Hello there, are you glad the week is almost over? I am, time is going fast but my list of things to do is growing, lol. Anyways that's enough about me. Today I bring you a card featuring Penguin Fun, another fun, summer is just about here stamp.

I made this card for Sketch and Stash Challenge 35 , I hope it's okay that I changed the oval panel to a circle (there was one in the DT samples so I thought it would be alright). This was a fun sketch to work with. I enjoy this challenge because it always reminds me to take out my stash and use it. My never used stash would be the Bo Bunny DP and the ribbon. They are items I've been hoarding for no other reason then I want them to last forever, lol. Sigh but in order to make room new goodies I have to use the ones I've been hoarding.

    Friends Having Fun Sketch 2

Good morning everyone. Today is the second Monday of the month so that means there is a new Sketch Challenge over at Friends Having Fun. This month's Sketch was so much fun. Our sponsor this time around is *Wink *Wink Ink. They were kind of to donate images for the DT to use. Their images come for you to color and pre colored. For my project I used a pre colored image. Too cool, right :) Hope all the mommies out there had a fabulous Mother's Day.

    Fussy and Fancy May Basket

Good morning everyone, sorry for being a bit late at getting my Fussy and Fancy post up. The challenge this time around is to make a basket. Our sponsor is Wild Flower Kids. I used Ivy from Pretty In Pink. She is my favorite Wild Flower Kid :). My allergies have my head in a fog so I'm not going to go into all the details of this project. I'll try to come back and fill things in when I'm feeling better. Thanks!

To all the moms out there Happy Mother's Day!

    Smokin Hot New Digi Stamps

This is a new image, being released by Stamp Happens, it is from the Darque Obsession Collection. Wow was she fun to color. When I was done coloring her I though dang she is HOT. This image is called Bitten, perfect right, lol. To me she is waiting to get "Bitten" by one of the Brothers from Black Dagger Brotherhood. Hmm but which one... maybe Vishous, yep that works for me ;).

I found this sketch at Mercy Tuesday Sketch Challenge 72, I thought it allowed for the image to be the focal point. I decided to make an easel card, mainly because I think they are so cool looking. Also it allows some extra space to add sentiments and embellishments.
Here's the rest of the images, they're just as gorgeous. Be sure to head over to Tonya's blog to see what everyone else created with these images.
Ok so I couldn't pick a favorite picture to post so I posted all of them, lol.
This sentiment is from Simply Supernatural by StampInsanity. This is a sneak peak since this set isn't available just yet. I promise it will be available soon so be on the look out.

My First Guest DT Spot featuring Mystic Beauties

This month I am a guest DT member for StampInsanity, so I get to strut my stuff with the Groovy Gurlz. Today is also the Debut of Mystic Beauties. Don't these gurlz look fun.

Challenge #8 is to make an easel card. I decided to use Pearl Princess for my first project, boy was she fun to color. I printed her out on Georgia Pacific card stock and I'm actually surprised I was able to color her so well. I've tried a few images before on GP and they ended up a complete mess. I think I'm finally getting the hang of using my Copics on GP card stock. I can't believe I even manage to color the background black. Sure if you look closely you'll see where the black bled out a bit, but all in all I think she looks pretty cool. Well I may have gone a bit overboard embellishing this card, but I love the end result.
So Beth made me this cool watermark (see it on card above). I love it but I don't have any fancy software to put watermarks on my pics. After putting the watermark on my card the colors got washed out a bit so I decided to leave the rest of my pics without the watermark, sorry Beth :(. I think this way you can see the crystal effects on the black pearl a little bit better as well a better take on the colors. I used the sketch from .
    Other Challenges
Sentiment is from Otherworldly Loves stamp set also by StampInsanity. I stamped it in SU Going Gray, it matched perfectly to the Prima roses and gray beads.
Please be sure to join in the fun and play along with this weeks challenge. Head on over to StampInsanity to see the debut of Mystic Beauties. To see what the rest of the DT created click on links below.

    Schools Out! featuring Happy Crabby

Well almost, lol. My kids have less than 3 weeks of school left and I'm so not ready, lol. Happy Crabby reminds me of summer vacation, so I decided to showcase him. Isn't he just too cute with his shovel and pail having a good time at the beach. Soon the kids will be wanting to do the same thing.

I made this card using the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday #47. I thought it worked perfectly with this image.

    I Am In Love

OMG, I am loving these images by Di's Digi Downloads. I love these images so much that when I saw there was a DT call I was all for throwing my hat in the ring. Well this weekend the DT was announced and guess whose name was on the list? Yep mine, I am so excited that Di chose me to be on her DT. This is my first official card as a DT member but I've used a few of her images before.
It was so hard to decide which images to pick but this image, A Loving Hug, was begging me to pick it. I colored it yesterday while hubby was watching basketball. Today I went looking for a sketch to use. I came across this one at Magical Crafts Challenge 14. I love how the image is the focal point. Thanks for checking out my blog!
